BINGO!!!

By Melanie Fleury, edHelperBaby

Intro
Two-year-olds are so much fun as they begin to learn in leaps and bounds. If you haven't already, this is a great time to start introducing colors. This simple game will appeal to their independence as well as teach them a great skill.

       What You Need:

       Poster board

       Markers

       How to Prepare:

Cut the poster board in half. On one half, make a grid of squares. A couple of 9 X 9 grids work great. Color each grid with different color squares. Use the same colors for each grid, but in a different order. Use the other half of the poster board to cut out several small circles to use as BINGO markers. You can also use the second half to cut out squares in each of the marker colors that you used.

       What To Do:

Put the different color squares in a box, bag, or other item that is easy to access. Shake them up a little. As you pull a square out, say the color. Help your toddler find the color on her board and cover it with a BINGO marker. When she gets a row of colors, she can yell: BINGO! If you made a couple of boards, invite your other children or friends to play along.

       My toddler loves:

She loves to play games! Hearing the color name and then seeing the color on the board really helps her to connect the word and the color. She is labeling everything in the house with colors. Instead of, "I want a cup," she wants "a RED cup." . It is a great vocabulary builder.
