Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!

By Melanie Fleury, edHelperBaby

Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!
This age is one of my favorites with my children Your toddler is starting to assert her independence, plays well by herself, and is using her imagination. You can help foster her love of acting with this fun activity.

Activity
All toddlers love animals. Most toddlers know a few animals and their noises by the time they are 2. You can play a game of charades with your toddler by taking turns imitating animals. A wonderful big roar while crawling on your knees will make you a wonderful tiger or lion. A big growl can have your toddler giggling, "BEAR!" Add some new animals when you can to enhance her knowledge. Let her have a turn being her favorite animal. Can she meow and purr like a cat?

My Toddler Loves....
My toddler loves all animals. The activity is so engaging and fun that we can waste away a rainy afternoon while being all the animals in the zoo. Her favorite? The monkeys of course!!! Once she learned most of the animals I could remember, we celebrated with a well deserved trip to the zoo.
