Support Groups
Sometimes being a new parent can be an overwhelming task for a person. There are many different types of support groups out there to help you along the way. Research different support groups in your area. Find out what they have to offer, how to join, when and where they meet, fees, etc...

The following is a list of some support groups that are out there and available to parents:
  • La Leche League - La Leche League provides trained and accredited volunteer breastfeeding peer counselors. This is a place where mothers share experiences, give suggestions, and offer both support and encouragement. Expectant, new, and experienced mothers and their babies can attend the local informal meetings.
  • Mom Support Network - This is an online support network that moms can use to connect with one another through chat rooms, forums, photo share, and email. This is a perfect support group for the mom with a busy schedule.
  • International MOMS Club - The MOMS Club is an organization designed specifically for stay-at-home moms. There are 2,000+ chapters and over 100,000 members in the United States alone.
  • Café Mom - This is an online community where thousands of moms come together each day to share stories, advice, and photos.
  • Mom and Me Play Groups- This is a local support group where moms and their kids come together. The moms share stories, advice, and offer support while the children play and interact with one another.
  • Stay-At-Home Dad (SAHD) Group - SAHD is an organization designed specifically for stay-at-home dads. Dads come together to share stories, offer advice, and give support to each other. There are currently 1,000+ chapters in the United States.
