Is Cramping Normal During Pregnancy?

By Mary Sharman, edHelperBaby

Question
Early in pregnancy, uterine cramping can indicate normal changes of pregnancy initiated by hormonal changes. As the pregnancy continues it can indicate a growing uterus. If the cramping becomes more than just a minor discomfort or there is vaginal bleeding it can indicate ectopic pregnancy (this is usually early in the pregnancy) or threatened abortion of the baby by the body. You should see your doctor right away. Always call your physician when you feel uncomfortable about something that is going on with your body. That is what your doctor is there for!
